The little town in nowhere would never have been found out if the river current hadn't floated the Factory’s waste downriver to somewhere else.
But before the Marble Mill and Saw Mill closed, before the Feds and the Infantry got involved, the community was just a place where an interstate run through moonshine territory. The next stop for gas was fifty miles. When the tourists pulled off the exit to get a fill up, they discovered the filling station was owned by the local bootlegger. Since love for the taste of white lightening is nationwide and international, the well to do tourist passing through on vacation decided to come back and settle down and build shops on top of shops. It's what happened when groomed culture married into hillbilly, before hillbilly became town and country and farmer's market, back when hillbilly was off the radar, excepting for the Revenuers. Most of them were rookies who kept getting lost in the woods.
